Choose your self-service starting point
Choose Free to evaluate Koha, or Standard if you are ready to run Koha live.
Standard (Recommended)
A strong starting point if you are ready to run Koha live
Run Koha on AWS Cloud with backups and secure access already in place. A good fit for many libraries going live.
- No record/item limits
- Automated backups & monitoring
- Ready for live use
AWS infrastructure charges apply separately. Flexible usage-based billing may be available for eligible deployments.
Free Tier (Evaluation)
Best for evaluation and small pilots
Koha with record and item limits, intended for evaluation, training, or very small pilots.
- Limited to 1,000 bibliographic records
- Item limits apply
- Full feature access
- Upgrade path to Standard
Evaluation limits apply (best for testing and pilots)
Standard is the main live option for most libraries. AWS infrastructure is billed separately by AWS.
AWS Free Tier Credits
New AWS accounts may qualify for AWS credits and a Free Plan for a limited period. See current AWS Free Tier details.

How self-service launch works
Three steps to launch Koha on AWS Cloud
Sign Up for AWS
Create a free AWS account if you don't have one. AWS may require a payment method to create an account. You can still control costs with Free Tier credits/plans and billing alerts. See AWS Free Tier details.
Choose your option and launch
Choose Standard if you are ready to run Koha live on AWS Cloud, or Free Tier if you want to evaluate first. The guided setup handles most of the infrastructure work, and launch is usually measured in minutes, not days.
Start using Koha
Open the provided URL and start setting up Koha. You can add catalog records, create patron accounts, and begin testing workflows straight away. A full guide is included.
Prefer us to handle setup?
If you want KohaSupport to handle deployment, configuration, and launch planning, our managed team can help. Migration and training can be included when you need them.
Book a consultationNeed a more resilient setup?
Enterprise is recommended for universities, public library systems, multi-branch libraries, and consortia with heavier demand.
Need help launching?
Self-service is the default path. If you want help with migration, setup, training, or go-live planning, see Managed Services.
