Standard 30-day trial checklist

The 30-day Standard software trial is for evaluating the product you can continue using in production. AWS infrastructure charges apply throughout. The Marketplace offer is the source of truth for eligibility, start date, expiry, and billing.

Before subscribing

Have your AWS account, region, payment arrangements, administrator, and likely infrastructure costs ready. Plan the evaluation before accepting the offer: the trial period cannot be paused. The AMI trial covers one instance; additional running instances can incur software charges.

Launch and evaluate

Use the Standard launch checklist. Verify staff login and public catalogue, import a non-sensitive sample, test search and circulation, customise a theme, and check backups and a restore. Configure DNS before enabling a custom-domain certificate. Record what your library needs before going live.

Before expiry

Continued running usage becomes chargeable at the applicable hourly rate after the trial. The current public Standard rate is $0.29/hour per running instance. An annual purchase ($1,999/year at the current public price) is a separate choice, not an automatic annual charge at trial expiry. Annual entitlements are instance-type specific; review the accepted offer before changing instance type.

To stop an evaluation, export any data you need, review the Marketplace cancellation steps, and terminate the relevant EC2 instances. Unsubscribing alone does not terminate resources. Review retained EBS volumes and snapshots, Elastic IPs, S3 backups, and other created resources for continuing AWS charges. Retain required backups before removing anything.

Setup, migration, training, and operational support can be scoped separately. Ask for help. Existing legacy users should read the migration runbook.
