Theme Builder Troubleshooting Guide

This guide helps you diagnose and fix the most common Theme Builder issues quickly.

Logo not showing

• Confirm logo file uploaded successfully
• Check supported format and dimensions
• Clear browser cache and hard refresh
• Confirm branch override did not replace logo asset

Colors look wrong

• Verify hex values in branding settings
• Check contrast mode or browser extensions
• Inspect for legacy OPACUserCSS overrides
• Re-preview after saving draft

Navigation changes not visible

• Confirm edits were published, not just saved in draft
• Verify you edited the correct scope (global vs branch)
• Check cached browser session
• Validate link list wasn’t overridden by branch settings

Preview differs from live

• Confirm last published version matches reviewed draft
• Verify branch context in preview and live is the same
• Confirm no post-publish manual OPACUserCSS changes occurred

Mobile layout issue

• Check preset behavior on narrow breakpoints
• Reduce long labels in navigation/buttons
• Remove oversized images in custom content blocks

Branch-specific override not applying

• Confirm branch override feature is enabled
• Confirm branch context is active in OPAC
• Confirm override was published in branch scope

Conflict with legacy OPACUserCSS/OPACUserJS

• Audit existing global and branch CSS/JS preferences
• Disable or remove overlapping selectors in Theme Builder-managed zones
• Re-test after cleanup

If you are migrating from old CSS Keep a temporary backup of prior OPACUserCSS/OPACUserJS, but remove obsolete rules after Theme Builder rollout to avoid conflicts.
